Hotel: Jumeirah Al Qasr

How's your Eid break? Some of the luckiest people got the time off for a week. When you're in the UAE, this is the only opportunity to book a holiday out of the country. Better grab it! But if your time is very limited or you're looking for ways to pare down expenses, opt for a staycation - which can be as relaxing and fun. You don't have to be in Maldives to enjoy the beach. Step into a hot bubble bath, grab a book and a glass of wine. Staycation isn't supposed to be just another day off. Give your body and mind the chance to recuperate.

In my case, I had to play the hometown tourist since I recently got back from a trip. We chose to book a hotel instead to indulge in the pleasure of a getaway without bringing our passports. When the feet starts to itch for action, I need to get out. I've considered Madinat Jumeirah because I already stayed at Mina A'Salam with my family a couple of years ago and... WE LOVED IT!

Madinat Jumeirah is the largest resort in the UAE with Arabian inspired architecture, two kilometres of private beachfront and traditional abra ride cruising through palm-fringed waterways. It has two boutique hotels - Mina A'Salam and Al Qasr. We decided to try Al Qasr this Eid, which name literally translates to The Palace. You will be greeted by beautifully sculpted golden horses on the drive up to the hotel so don't expect anything less from Madinat Jumeirah.

Before booking directly on a hotel's website, always check the "Offers" section. You can save up more from choosing the best hotel deals for your stay. We booked the Arabian Deluxe for 1440 AED per night (including taxes) using the Eid promo with 20 AED for the Tourism Fee. You can avail the breakfast buffet for an additional 150 AED. If you get hungry, there are over 40 bars and restaurants in the area. Make sure to call ahead for reservation. It gets really crowded every weekend especially on a holiday. We dined at Trattoria Toscana for a casual romantic dinner. Try their award-winning classic pizza selection! Mmmm... Delizioso! The entire hotel appeared to glisten under the moonlight. Too bad my photos don't do any justice.

Al Qasr is a hidden gem nestled away from the busy streets of Dubai. Its intimate setting ensures a quiet and private stay. You're also guaranteed with top notched personalized service and facilities. Plus, you get a full view of the majestic Burj Al Arab! What more could you ask for? I felt like an Arabian Princess in my own magical palace! If it's luxury you seek, Madinat Jumeirah is the right choice. You're paying for much more than a room to sleep in. You know, we all deserve a little bit of extra comfort and pampering. Although I never got the chance to try Talise Spa. Next time, perhaps?

From the elegant hotel room, I'm taking you on a tour outside. Get ready for the flood! Don't say I didn't warn you.
