International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) 2015

What an incredibly fun format! My first time watching this league and it was an interesting blend of fan engagement and team sport. Totally different vibe and less tense compared to any ATP tournaments I've been to. Caught up with the UAE Royals led by Roger Federer against Japan Warriors on the third day of International Premier Tennis League at the Dubai Tennis Stadium. My only concern was it falls on a weekday. I'm sure there were a lot of tennis fans out in the UAE who wished to attend minus the hassle of skipping their work.

Tennis might be the only sport I'm completely passionate about. Trying to control myself not to babble here about my favorite tennis players. Too bad Roger Federer didn't play on the last day of IPTL in Dubai. Marin Cilic took his spot. But there was Andy Murray who replaced Novak Djokovic for the Singapore Slammers to play against Indian Aces led by Aga Radwanska and Bernard Tomic. Also, what a pleasure being in the presence of some past tennis greats like Carlos Moya, Goran Ivanisevic and Marat Safin! Perhaps, this league could use some lady legends in the future.

Congratulations to the Singapore Slammers for being the Coca-Cola IPTL 2015 Champion! See you next year!
